Deep Tissue Massage is a technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through specific strokes or pressure on the constricted areas, either following or going across the fibers of the muscles, tendons and fascia. Therapeutic massage usually focuses on more specific areas rather than full body and may cause some soreness during or right after the massage, leaving the client feeling better than ever within a day or two. Stretching may be combined for maximum results and benefits. MFR, hot stones or cupping may be added to the appointment, as needed. Medical massage techniques may be used to assess and treat those areas of dysfunction causing the pain. Again, please note, this may not be a full body massage, but rather focused on the areas causing the pain and dysfunction.
*SWEDISH RELAXATION MASSAGE
60 minutes $100/90 minutes $150
Swedish Massage is a great massage for relaxation, to assist in potentially reducing the feelings of stress and anxiety. It may induce sleep, or improved sleep. It involves long, fluid strokes of muscles and tissues with pressure that varies from light to medium. There is no firm pressure in this massage. This is not a specific area type of work, but rather a full body modality for those wanting a more superficial and wonderfully relaxing experience. Relaxation is undervalued in the massage industry. People tend to come to massage therapists to "fix pain and dysfunction", and that's totally fine and recommended, however Swedish massage certainly has its place, too. I know that i feel so much better when i receive a "correct" Swedish Massage. Because these aren't given often, i feel most massage therapists don't keep up on these skills. That's my experience when trying to find someone that knows how to properly perform this type fo work. Because of this, I understand the need for focused and intentional relaxing bodywork.
